FEZ "Ishkashim" consists of separate areas with total area of 200 hectares. It is a complex area, aimed at the broad economic cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan with Afghanistan (Badakhshan province) and Kyrgyzstan (Osh region). The main advantages of the free economic zone lies in the fact that it will not only acts as the engine of development of GBAO, but the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, in terms of opportunities to attract raw materials, resources for processing of agricultural products, mining, promotes mutually beneficial trade cooperation and re-export of goods from China, Pakistan and Afghanistan. FEZ "Ishkashim" is in a very favorable territorial position it can act as the Transport Corridor connecting Tajikistan with Afghanistan, China, Pakistan and Central Asia.
