Nanning High- and New- Tech Industrial Development Zone was founded in 1988. It was approved by the State Council to be nationl-level high- and new- tech park in 1992. The total area is 43.7㎡. At the end of 2001, the Municipal Pary Committee and the government of Nanning decided to implement closed-off management to the development Zone, in order to promote economic development. For several years, the Zone has developed very fast and has preliminarily formed competitive industries such as electronic information, bioengineering and pharmaceuticals, mechatronics, new material, etc. The Zone has become the one with the highest degree of industrial agglomeration and the most mature supporting facilities in Guangxi. It also is an important base in Guangxi to develop high- and new-technology.

The infrastructure facilities are completed. There have been a batch of office buildings, standardized workshops and residential buildings put into use in the Zone. Infrastructure facilities such as transportation, communication, water, electricity and gas are all completed.
